Description
Kodak Bantam Air Ministry UK Military British Air Force 828 film camera, contract number 14A/3127, USA 1938-19418, with Kodak Anastigmat 50mm f5.6 lens and case with short strap. BANTAM, a short history. Only a year after introducing the standard disposable 35mm cartridge, Kodak introduced a new rollfilm. It was numbered 828 because it took 8 exposures 28mm wide on a 35mm wide film strip. The new film made better use of the film area by using a single perforation on one edge to mark each frame. The resulting 28x40mm area is nearly 30% larger than the 24x36mm format of the 35mm film. The Bantam size continues on today's improved 126 cassette which takes 28mm wide photos with a single perforation per frame.
