Description

We offer for your consideration these two vintage super 8 movie cameras. These cameras are being offered as Props or Collectable items, due to age issues. The Sankyo- This movie camera dates to around 1964. This camera looks to be in good condition and takes roll film, but one issue we have found is that the contacts in the battery pack need to be cleaned. Right now the rust on the contacts is inhibiting batteries from providing power to the camera. This camera comes with the original Sankyo camera case and two additional lenses. The lenses are Vivitar and made just for the 4X movie camera, the are a wide angle lens and a telephoto lens. The Kodak XL55- This camera was introduced by Kodak around 1972-74, The XL55 was advertised as the first movie camera to shoot in available light. The release of this camera coincided with the release of their new High Speed Ektachrome Super 8 colour film. We put some fresh batteries in this camera and it actually worked. Not bad for it being around 48 years old. It did sound a bit rough though. The film cartridges for these cameras are becoming increasingly rare, but some movie camera blogs have stated the film can still be found ? This camera will come in the case we found it in, it is not a Kodak case, but the camera fits in it nicely, and the case is in very good shape. Both cameras still have film in them. It could interesting,or not to develop the film to see what was captured. If you are a vintage movie camera collector, or if you are the buyer for a Prop house, these two cameras will be nice additions to any collection.
